Faculty Retreats

We bring who we are to all that we do. The more wholeness we experience, the greater the gift we bring to others - both in our personal lives, as well as in the classroom. The life of a teacher can become fragmented by the amount of work and responsibility she/he has. One might ask: "Is there more to life than school?" It may not seem that way when the profession becomes all-consuming, as it can at times. Our spirit yearns for inner peace, balance and solitude.
Taking time out to retreat within is especially necessary for those who serve the needs of others - or else one might lose touch with the very meaning and purpose of the work itself. A faculty retreat can provide the time apart from the work-world to allow teachers and other staff members to focus on their own inner life and to renew their spirits as they continue the very demanding ministry of education.

Location

Decided upon by the school administration. It is, however, recommended that a place away from the work setting be chosen. A retreat house or a parish center are a couple of options to consider.

Time

The school-hour framework is suggested.

Cost

The fee is negotiable. Depending on location and number of participants, the cost of travel and materials may be added. Lunch is the responsibility of the school administration or participants themselves.

Retreat Structure

Peggy is willing to accommodate the needs of the particular staff. Suggestions of themes, topics, and goals of the group are most welcome. Preferences regarding group sharing vs. private reflection will also be respected.
