Soul Sisters

During this retreat we will explore the Feminine Divine and how women have a significant role to play in bringing balance and healing to our world of war and suffering. We will look at the role of women in Scripture as well as the call to transformation in the Christian tradition. The history of God as Mother will be examined and the importance of compassion in the process of healing for ourselves as individuals as well as the global community. We will also look at the experience of some contemporary women whose struggle for new life is a testimony to the resilience of the human spirit and the redeeming power of God’s grace. This precious time with God, our sisters and ourselves will leave us forever changed!

Edwina Gateley, a native of Lancaster England, is dedicated to following the call of God in her life. This has led her to working as a teacher and missionary in Africa, where she established a school for Ugandan girls to founding the Volunteer Missionary Movement, which has sent 1,700 women and men to 26 countries on five continents, to sojourning into the Sahara Desert and the wilderness to pray, to befriending and ministering to prostitutes and street people of Chicago. Edwina is a poet, artist, writer, lay minister, mother and modern-day mystic and prophet. Edwina continues to write and lead retreats and conferences in the U.S. and internationally, including retreats for Sophia's Circle, women in recovery from prostitution and drugs. Overnight Fee: $475 includes accommodations for 5 nights and 15 meals. After July 1st, $495.

Commuter Fee: $325 includes 10 meals (no breakfast). After July 1st, $345.

Time: Retreat begins with supper at 5:30 pm on Monday, August 10th and ends at 1:00 pm after lunch on Saturday, August 15th.
